CoverGirl Outlast Stay Brilliant: Timeless Rubies

As I was buying my Maybelline Color Tattoo, Inked in Pink, I couldn't just pass by the spinning CoverGirl display without having a peek. And so goes my downfall because I spotted a metallic/foil looking nail polish in a very pretty shade. This is how I ended up leaving the drugstore with 2 beauty products I really shouldn't have splurged on.

Timeless Rubies, is more of a raspberry color than a ruby red. The light also plays a lot of tricks with this one too. There's quite a bit of shifting and sometimes it looks rather pink while other times it'll be more on the red side. The pink side of the polish was apparently camera shy and I just couldn't capture it in a photo.  Plus, there's a pinch of orange flash I'll see from time to time.

Overall, the formula was very nice, having applied smoothly, but the drying time was about average. The first coat dried quickly enough but for full opacity I needed three coats and that took a bit longer to dry. I did top it off with my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri though.

I'm rather impressed with the quality from this new line of CoverGirl polishes. I'll probably want to browse the display again to see if there are any other interesting shades worth buying. I bought mine from Walgreens for $6.49 and the bottle contains 0.37 fl.oz. or 11 ml.
